One all-Canadian festival with over 35 acts…Canada’s Walk of Fame Festival confirms additional programming for the free component of the festival at Yonge-Dundas Square (YDS), September 29 to October 1. JUNO Award-winning country star Brett Kissel, JUNO-nominated Canadian pop punk band Treble Charger and DJ Skratch Bastid round out the musical performance line-up of the free festival at YDS. They join previously announced artists including Trevor Guthrie, 54-40, Kira Isabella, Jill Hennessy, Tomi Swick and Francesco Yates along with the seven winners of this year’s Emerging Artist Music Mentorship Program, supported by RBC.
Two visual artists have also been added to the programming and will showcase original Canada’s Walk of Fame Festival commissioned pieces. Patrick Nunziata will create a large-scale abstract painting incorporating Canada’s Walk of Fame imagery and chalk artist Dave Johnston will produce 3D chalk renditions of Canada’s Walk of Fame stars showcasing this year’s new Inductees (2015 Inductees to be announced on September 29).
MLSE will be providing sports-themed activations by the Toronto Maple Leafs (September 29) and the Toronto FC (October 1). Activations include an autograph signing with team players, activities and more. Plus TFC Mascot, “Bitchy The Hawk” will be on hand as well.
Canadian authors Kevin Sylvester, Jonah Keri and James Grainger will be reading excerpts from their latest novels and pianist Laura Sgroi will be providing live accompaniment to the silent film presentations daily at 2pm.
Now in its sixth year, the Canada’s Walk of Fame Festival is a celebration of
Canadian arts featuring free performances at YDS, the return of the annual Massey Hall concert series and new this year a rising star music showcase at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern.
Massey Hall Concert Series
Headlining the Festival’s Massey Hall concert series are beloved musicians

Future Legends at The Horseshoe
The all-new music showcase at The Horseshoe Tavern on September 28 features rising stars of the Canadian music scene, including the talented musical styling of Ontario rockers Ascot Royals, the all-female rock quartet The Beaches, pop singer Ria Mae and Toronto-based duo Bellwoods. Yonge-Dundas Square Free Festival
Taking place from noon -11 p.m. daily from September 29 – October 1 at Yonge-Dundas Square, the jam-packed Free Festival lineup has an exciting mix of programming from live music to book readings, dance lessons and performances and lunchtime workouts with GoodLife Fitness. There will also be food trucks, giveaways and nightly films.
Funding for the festival is provided in part by the Government of Canada through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, which has the objective to give Canadians access to a variety of professional artistic experiences in their communities.
In addition, financial support is also provided by the Government of Ontario through Celebrate Ontario and the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation. The Festival media partner is the Toronto Star.
